My paintings are based on memory and nostalgia, usually childhood memories and more often than not, endless summer holidays.
My summer memories are firmly based in the 70s and we all craved the surf culture despite growing up on river banks and inland lakes. There were endless road trips, in cars without air conditioning, vinyl seats which stuck to the backs of our legs and classic rock tunes on the transistor radio. The high point for me was mastering the Farrah flick and my favourite lime green flair jeans with the embroidered palm trees.
