My first collection of the year has been made and delivered to the stockroom at Brunswick Street Gallery.

It was created in the height of summer. Hot days, lingering evening light, mornings bright and full of energy. I had a mini collection to put together and I wasted no time translating that inner summer glow feeling into new paintings.

There were no expectations and I was free to play with all my tools, new marks, fresh palette. Summer is such a joy!

The work is available directly through the gallery. You can see more here or contact them for any interest.

Melbourne artist Michelle Harvey explores the dreamy vastness and quiet drama of the natural world through glowing, atmospheric landscapes. Her work is an imaginative response to skies and open spaces where light shifts, clouds billow, and there’s space to exhale, time to daydream — a place where the sublime is waiting, inviting you to pause and notice.

Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, Harvey builds each painting through delicate glazes and transparent layers, creating softness, depth, and a sense of movement. Her process is intuitive, guided by a romantic and theatrical approach to colour and atmosphere.

Her works reflect a feeling — of standing beneath an endless sky, or watching weather gather across open land. They invite the viewer to slow down and connect with the beauty of the in-between moments: between storm and stillness, dusk and dawn, awake and dreams.
