Most days begin noticing the light
Every walk is spent noticing the sky, the changing season, and another photograph is taken as a way to lock the feeling into my memory.

I'm endlessly fascinated by the way light shifts across the landscape, how clouds rise to to catch the last light, or now the glow of a sunset can transform an ordinary view into something unforgettable. Those fleeting moments stay with me long after they've passed, and often become the starting point for my paintings.

Working from my Melbourne studio, I create intuitive landscape paintings that are inspired by the feeling of a place rather than a specific location. Built slowly, always with music to match my mood, each layer softly connects my imagination with the wonder of the natural world.

My path to becoming a full-time artist wasn't a straight one. After studying fine art, I spent many years building my creative business, Crayon Chick, designing and exhibiting handmade work across Australia and internationally. While that business grew, painting quietly waited in the background until in 2020, I finally gave it the space I craved.

Since then, everything has clicked into place. Travel, changing weather, dramatic skies, and the quiet beauty of wide open landscapes continue to shape my work. Rather than painting a particular scene, I'm interested in capturing the atmosphere of a moment.

That feeling of stopping in your tracks because nature suddenly takes your breath away.

My hope is that these paintings bring a little of that same sense of calm. wonder and possibility into your home.
