My Bedrock Keeps Me From Drifting, 22cm x 30cm

A landscape inspired by the flat open country of my childhood home. With distant ridges of layered bedrock forced to the surface many thousands of years ago. Jagged horizons and shape-shifting bulks keep me company today as I drive through these golden plains.

Painted in acrylics and mixed media, this painting has many layers which makes a rich tapestry of marks which draw you in for a closer look. Painted from memories built since childhood and, although created without reference, feels familiar.
