I'm thrilled to be a finalist in the Mornington Peninsula Contemporary Art Prize (MPCAP) in Flinders later this month.
I delivered my painting by hand this week, which involved a fabulous road trip with hours of staring at the big skies. I painted each cloud on the horizon in my mind's eye. It's so important to keep the files in my memory bank up to date and fresh.
The piece I entered, After The Storm We'll Glow, was definitely painted from all the snippets of memories and feelings I keep inside. I was aware of the movement of clouds, and chasing the light and the luminosity of the triumphant setting sun once the storm moved on.
